Allegheny County, in southwestern Pennsylvania, is comprised primarily of the Pittsburgh Metropolitan Area and its surrounding suburbs. Pittsburgh is historically known as the “Steel Capital of the World,” and has continued to be a major regional center for industry and commerce.
